Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE): International Honor Society for the Computing and Information Disciplines is the first honor society dedicated to the discipline of computer information systems and computer science.

Membership Requirements

There are four main requirements for joining the society as a new member. These requirements for admission can be flexible given certain circumstances. Please contact Joanne Selinski with any specific questions about membership criteria.
  • Credits: Undergraduates must have completed at least 18 graded credits in computer science classes. Graduate students must have completed at least 5 full courses towards their computer science degree.
  • GPA: Normally above a 3.5 is acceptable and below a 3.0 is not. If you have a somewhat lower GPA than required but have an intense computer science workload or special research and work experience, you may still be considered.
  • Attendance: Members are obligated to attend the initiation ceremony as well as any meetings that may occur throughout the year.
  • Fee: There is a one-time initiation fee of $60.
If you believe that you can meet these criteria, please send a copy of your resume to Joanne Selinski for review before March 9th.
